Changelog

What changed in each version of Stickies, newest first. Updates are free for everyone who bought a license. Stickies checks for them on its own, or you can get the latest installer from the download page.

Version 0.1.17

You can now add pictures to notes: paste a screenshot, drop an image from Explorer, or type /image. Pictures are encrypted like the rest of the note. You can also keep your notes in a folder you pick, such as OneDrive, Dropbox or a NAS (Settings > Backup & Data). The dock no longer stops responding after your PC wakes from sleep, and Stickies now keeps a local log file you can send me if something goes wrong.

Version 0.1.16

License activation and update checks now work on work PCs that inspect secure connections (such as Zscaler). Stickies now trusts the same certificates Windows does.

Version 0.1.15

You can now pin notes to the top (Ctrl+Shift+T, /top, or the More menu) and drag notes to reorder them in the deck and All Notes. Numbered lists with 10 or more items no longer cut off the number, and updates now install through the regular installer.

Version 0.1.14

You can now lock private notes with a 4-digit PIN, with a recovery key in case you forget it. You can also pop a note out into its own window: it stays where you put it and reopens when Stickies starts. The note toolbar is simpler and the same everywhere, and Settings are regrouped and written in plain English.

Version 0.1.13

The message you see when the trial ends now sits cleanly over the notes, the deck no longer closes too early, and a thin strip at the window edge no longer flickers.

Version 0.1.12

Stickies now restarts properly after an in-app update, and updating no longer flashes a terminal window.

Version 0.1.11

Color codes like #ff0000 are no longer mistaken for tags. Pressing Enter at the start of a to-do now adds a new item above it.

Version 0.1.10

Settings has a new Help & Support tab where you can email me with your diagnostics filled in. The privacy policy and imprint are now on stickies.lol, and Stickies is a little faster.

Version 0.1.9

Stickies now works with more than one monitor: pick which screen the dock lives on, and if you unplug a monitor the dock moves back to one you still have. Windows remember their size on each display.

Version 0.1.8

Behind-the-scenes change to the app's identity in Windows, needed for future updates.

Version 0.1.7

Dark mode. A slimmer resting dock, fixes for the note color switcher, no more duplicate notes when creating one quickly, and Settings now matches the look of All Notes.

Version 0.1.6

The dock takes up less space and no longer collapses by accident while you use it.

Version 0.1.5

Safer saving, so a note is never half-written. Deleting and undoing a note now keeps its color and position, Escape goes back where you expect, and long lists of notes load faster.

Version 0.1.4

Type /calc followed by a sum, like /calc 25 * 4, to do quick math right in a note.

Version 0.1.3

Slash commands: type / in a note for to-dos, lists, headings, code blocks and templates like /standup and /meeting. Also fixed select-all followed by Backspace.

Version 0.1.2

Type /todo to start a checklist. Checked items now stay checked and crossed out everywhere.

Version 0.1.1

Links and web addresses in notes are now clickable.
